Broncos Leagues Club
Brisbane, 2025

Client Name: Broncos Leagues Club
Location: Red Hill, Brisbane, QLD
Project Completion: 23 June 2025
Annual Solar Production: Estimated 235.4MWh
Broncos Leagues Club has taken another step in its sustainability journey, this time making a visible impact both on the roof and on the bottom line. The newly installed solar system reduces grid reliance, cuts carbon emissions, and demonstrates the Club’s commitment to a cleaner future, all while maintaining uninterrupted operations for members and guests. Delivered in two stages, the project allowed the Club to split capital expenditure, lock in pricing, and prioritise the highest-yield roof areas before expanding to additional sections.
CHALLENGES
Installing solar at a busy hospitality venue meant balancing technical requirements with operational continuity. Compliance with DNSP limits and meeting protection and metering requirements were central to the project. DS Energy worked closely with the network provider to secure all necessary approvals, while export limitations required a staged commissioning plan. Careful coordination ensured installation could proceed without disrupting daily trading.
SOLUTION
DS Energy designed and installed a 174.965 kW system using 365 Astronergy CHSM60M-HC 480W and 475W panels. The two-stage approach delivered flexibility, allowing the Club to target the most productive roof areas first, then expand as planned. All work was completed in line with network requirements, with staged commissioning implemented to meet compliance and export conditions.
RESULT
The system is expected to reduce Broncos Leagues Club’s carbon emissions by approximately 167.1 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Beyond the environmental benefits, the Club now enjoys reduced grid dependency, greater energy cost stability, and the long-term value of a visible, future-focused investment.
